Volunteer Recruitment Day
Get a glimpse of the volunteering opportunities at Bressingham. To participate in this recruitment event registration is required. Please read the page.
Bressingham Steam Museum is a Charitable Trust whose objectives are to maintain and present a collection of live steam exhibits and associated artefacts for the education and enjoyment of the general public.
The museum relies heavily upon its community of Volunteers who offer support both in and out of season in a wide variety of roles and responsibilities. They are the lifeblood of the museum and without their assistance the museum would not exist.
We have around 70 active volunteers who attend on a regular basis, we are grateful for all of the support we get no matter how much time you can give. Running an intensive operational schedule through the open season is a very challenging task. It is volunteers who are running all of the trains/gallopers our visitors come to enjoy. We are always seeking more volunteers to join the team and help Bressingham, not only to keep it running but to help the museum progress and improve in the future!
Here is a short video where some of our volunteers explain why they come to the museum and how rewarding it can be!
On Saturday 21st September we will be hosting a Volunteer recruitment day.
We ask that anyone who is interested to please contact the museum to reserve a place. 01379 686900 or email@example.com. Spaces will be limited and must be pre booked.
The day will start at 10:00 with a informal chat and presentation followed by a tour of the museum. This is where we will explain the wide range of responsibilites, tasks and opporutnies volunteers can get involved with at Bressingham.
There will then be opportunities to shadow some of the team to learn more about some of the operational roles such as railway guarding and driving steam on both the Steam Roller and on a steam locomotive on the Fen Railway.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided for prospective volunteers.
We welcome volunteers to Bressingham from ages 16 onwards.
