norfolk christmas shows & eventsNext Post
Depending on what the weather's like and how late you leave your Christmas shopping, finding the time to go to a Norfolk Christmas show or event can be a tall order.
That's why we've taken to time to try and take some of the guesswork of finding the right Christmas event for you - and if none of them appeal to you (Bah humbug!) you're always come and visit us at Bressingham instead!
Christmas events for food lovers
Obviously Christmas can be a great time for food - gluttony is positively mandatory in most households!
One of the more interesting food events that caught our eye was a collective of Street food traders in Norwich called Feast on the Street - they regularly hold events at the forum in Norwich, And then next being held on December 3.
Their list of traders has been handpicked to include some of the finest in the region, also catering for vegetarians and vegans, so there should always be something interesting to see, smell and put in your cakehole!
Possibly of less interest to Vegetarians and Vegans is Norfolk Food & Drink’s Butcher’s Shop Window Competition.
Taking place between 10th to 12th December, The public is being invited to take photos of butchers shop windows and vote for their favourites. In return you might be in with a chance of winning a Christmas Turkey!
Christmas markets and craft fairs
Next to food the other big Christmas thing is gifts, and whilst in this day and age all your Christmas shopping can be done from sofa on a tablet or laptop there are somethings that can only be found in the really real-world.
There should be plenty of unique and interesting gifts at the Norwich Global Village Market being held at the Forum in Norwich on the fourth and fifth of December.
The event features stallholders, many of them locals, selling handmade and fair trade products from around the world - there should be plenty of things to buy that you won't find on Amazon!
A little more off the beaten track, Castle acre Village Hall plays host to regular Creative Makers Fairs where plenty of handmade, Unique presents are bought and sold.
All the stallholders are talented artists and craftspeople with some amazing gifts on offer which you truly won't find anywhere else.
Family & kids Christmas entertainment
Lastly but by no means least we mustn't forget Christmas is a great time for families to have a great time together, there are plenty of events going on in Norfolk to cater for families with children.
The most obvious choice for most families is to take the kids somewhere to meet Father Christmas - if you're out our direction we would love to see you at Bressingham where Santa makes an extra special visit!
If you're in Norwich Jarrold store is possibly the most highly regarded venue to go and see Father Christmas in his Grotto on the 3rd of the famous department store.
IF you're brave enough for a trip to the coast, one of the busiest Christmas schedules in Norfolk we’ve found is Great Yarmouth’s programme of Xmas events - there are Christmas Lights, Choirs, Beer & Wine festivals - even a Reindeer Lantern Parade (!?).
There will also be an open air ice rink in the town centre too from November 20th to January 3rd - so what’s not to like?
Are there any local places or events you think we should know about?
If you’ve particularly enjoyed any places or events in Norfolk or Suffolk let us know.
We always like hearing about other local attractions!
