Ambulance Service 999 Responder Day - Sunday, July 11, 2010
EEAS Responder Day.
The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAS) has again chosen to hold its Responder Day at Bressingham.
There will be Ambulance service emergency vehicles both ultra modern and from days gone by. Get to know the difference between a Paramedic, Technician, Emergency Care Practioner and First Responder. Get to look at the inside of todays Ambulances. Responder cars from CFR groups at Stalham, Loddon and the Norwich SOS responder car will be present.
First Responders (CFR's) from the Ambulance Service are volunteers based in the community who are scrambled at the same time an Ambulance is sent to an urgent call. They are often nearer than the Ambulance and get to the scene with valuable life saving equipment first.
The day at Bressingham is to show the services vehicles and kit to the public, including that which CFR's carry. CPR demonstrations will take part during the day, along with Blood Pressure checks available for all, if you feel you need one!. Gory fake wounds are available for a small donation, direct from the Ambulance Service.
The EEAS are hoping to recruit more Community First Responders onto the 52 schemes that operate in Norfolk alone.
Bressingham is proud to work with the EEAS, Bressingham houses a full CFR kit, and staff at the Museum and Garden Centre who have been trained by the EEAS provide cover to the scheme.
The EEAS CFR web site is here. The new UK responders website Norfolk section is here (this site is currently being built and rolled out nationwide).
