Become a Friend Of Bressingham and Help BRESSINGHAM keep STEAMING
The Friends and Members of Bressingham are people who wish to support the work of the Bressingham Steam Preservation Trust as it keeps the collection of our founder Alan Bloom as a live steam site, where families can enjoy themselves whilst ensuring our steam heritage and knowledge is not lost
The FOB scheme provides an essential income stream for the Trust enabling the ongoing work to be carried out on its collection and infrastructure. Bressingham receives no public financing to keep going and relies on gate income, legacies and the Friends Scheme to balance its finances. The more income we generate the faster we can restore and maintain the collection.
Current Projects
The Trust is currently working on the following:
- New Carriages for the 60cm gauge Nursery Line - being built at Bressingham
- Gallopers horse maintenance and painting
- 5" & 7.25" miniature railway
Images updated every few minutes during the day
23 May update:
Around a third of the track bed has now been prepared and we have started to put down the ballast and first track panel adjacent to the crossing at the dodgems entrance. Levelling work continues on the stretch adjacent to the standard gauge prior to the track bed being laid.
13 September update:
The track bed has now been completed and work has started on laying the actual track. Unfortunately this hasn't progressed as quickly as we would have liked, mainly due to the weather and other committments on volunteer time.
Over the next few months if the weather permits, earthworks will continue to construct the station platform and a small mountain and feature quarry as well as levelling of the picnic area.
